Alutiiq Museum

We are renovating the museum to support our programs. The new Alutiiq Museum will feature a classroom, a gathering area, double the exhibit space, a larger store and much more.

Just published, this textbook features 230 pages of Alutiiq Language lessons. Explore the unique sounds, grammar, and vocabulary of Alutiit’stun–the language of Kodiak’s Native community.

While we renovate, the Alutiiq Museum is operating from the Marketplace in downtown Kodiak. Shop local and shop Alutiiq, Tuesdays through Saturdays 10 am to 5 pm.

Learn about Alutiiq heritage, historic preservation, and repatriation with a guided tour of the Alutiiq Ancestors’ Memorial, a city park that honors the Alutiiq people and teaches about historic preservation.
